The mission of The Dementia Caregiver Resource Center is to make a positive difference in the lives of the many families that care for a loved one at home that suffer from a form of dementia. The decision to care for a loved one with dementia is a very personal and yet difficult decision to make.
Our goal is to empower families with the knowledge about the progression of the various forms of dementia and assist them in caring for their loved one at home. We strive to help families assure that their loved one has the quality of life that they desire and deserve.
About Dr. Hiti
Dr. Pam Hiti is a Retired Family Practice Physician with over 26 years experience in medicine. Her passion for people suffering with dementia is immense, especially after caring for a 50 bed dementia unit at the Veterans Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Not only was Dr. Hiti the full-time Provider of the dementia unit, she also served as the Medical Director for the 301 bed facility. It was under her direction that the dementia unit became the premiere facility for Veterans in need of care for dementia in the State of Oklahoma. Dr. Hiti soon realized the need for educating families and the general public concerning the many forms of dementia and what impact the progression of dementia has on their loved one. It was after retirement from active practice that she produced The Dementia Caregiver Video Course, a comprehensive 4 hour course all about dementia in which she teaches families how to give the best possible care to their loved one at home, and also how to advocate for their loved one when admission to a Memory Care Unit is required.
